Fall fun is right around the corner!
The Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival is coming back to the Frederick County Fairgrounds on September 19 and 20 this year. Held each year as fall approaches, the family-friendly event is sponsored by the Winchester Rotary Club, and is packed full of fun activities for everyone. And all that fun is for a good cause – all event proceeds benefit local nonprofits.
Attendees can listen to live music, browse tents of artisans and vendors selling all kinds of goodies, grab something to eat or drink from various food trucks, participate in an apple pie baking/eating/judging contest, check out the Classic Car and Hot Rod show, and more.
Kids can enjoy various activities like inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides and face painting – most of which are free with admission.
Admission tickets are $10 per person (age 10 and older). First responders, military veterans and children under 10 receive free admission. Tickets can either be purchased online here, or at the gate. Local Handy Mart stores usually carry $1 off admission coupons each year you can bring to the event for a discount.
More information can be found on the event website here. Happy harvest!
